Voxel announced today, via a Press Release, that it has selected Equinix for many of its global expansion nodes, including Equinix Amsterdam, Equinix Singapore and Equinix Dallas. These locations add to our already extensive footprint with Equinix in the following markets: New York Metro, Chicago, Ashburn and San Jose.

As a lean company competing in a global marketplace for hosting, CDN and managed service business, Voxel has leveraged key relationships in building our core service offerings. Our customers rely on us for our deep managed hosting knowledge and top-tier IP and CDN services, not our datacenter building skills. As such, we’ve partnered with many ‘carrier neutral’ providers like Equinix, who specialize in building unbelievably redundant datacenter facilities all over the world.
Equinix has been a fantastic partner throughout our network and CDN services growth. This primarily has to do not with their space/power (although their facilities are gorgeous — see picture!), but with the neutral access to thousands of customers and networks. Voxel has a very strong private and public peering policy and believes in interconnection with as many networks as possible. For Voxel, Equinix has played a key role in enabling a “duty free” place to meet other networks. As a participant on its peering exchanges and through interconnections with networks via private cross-connects, Voxel has leveraged these key Internet points in the growth and expansion of both the Voxel IP Network and the VoxCAST CDN.
Today’s announcement highlights some key additions to Voxel’s service offering. With the expansion of our European presence to Equinix Amsterdam, we’ll be able to meet the exploding demand we’ve found in Europe. And Singapore is just the same — we’ve recently opened an office on the small nation-state (pictures coming soon!) and are very excited to see Singapore as our first foray into the Asian CDN/Hosting market. We’ll keep you posted on how we’re planning to tie all these Points of Presence (POPs) together and use them to enhance our existing Universal Transfer billing model, Dedicated and Virtualized Server offerings and VoxCAST Content Delivery Network.
