I was ecstatic when i heard that Voxel were planning to release a ‘cloud’ hosting product.

A few questions that would be good to get answers for:
    - Do you know when it will be available to the general public?
    - Will existing customers get priority for signing up?
    - Will you have a control panel accessible by mobile devices (like you can with ubersmith?) – i see you’re planning to use AIR, which won’t work many mobile devices.

    Matt,

Glad to see you’re interested! We’ll see how the tech preview goes of Silverlining before setting a public release date. However, from the feedback we’ve been getting from existing SLTP participants, things are shaping up very nicely.

Existing customers are still be accepted to the SLTP. I’d suggest signing up over at http://www.voxel.net/silverlining/ and we’ll see if we can fit you in.

As for the Adobe AIR application, we’ve done this as a ‘proof of concept’ for a desktop widget to control Silverlining VM’s. It uses only our hAPI — and, as such, will be open for 3rd party developers to code against. As time permits, Voxel is definitely interested in a mobile app as well as our upcoming, expanded “Infrastructure Management” portal. Stay tuned!

    Hey Raj,

I’m also an existing customer pumped about Silverlining. I know there are no dates regarding the public release, but is there a general time frame you guys are shooting for? I am really going to need a solution like this sometime in the fall – do you think pricing and other basic information be available by then?

  4. Zachary Smith Says:

    Jordan,

Public release will be well before the Fall and quite possibly this Spring. It’s really all about the feedback we get from customers in the SLTP. If you’re interested in getting started now, I’d suggest registering for the SLTP. We’ll see if we can fit you in.

  5. Shane Says:

We’re also VERY interested in SilverLining. Have registered but haven’t heard anything back. We’d love to test it out. :)

    Thanks
    Shane
