Voxel’s Nathan Goulding Talks Scaling Drupal in New Orleans and NYC!

Voxel’s diving into Drupal! Voxel’s Nathan Goulding has been selected to speak at 2 Drupal events this week: Drupal on the Bayou in New Orleans from December 8- 9, and DrupalCampNYC 10 on December 10th. If you’re planning on attending either event or just want to meet up and grab a beer – let us know!

In New Orleans, Nathan will be giving a real-time demonstration of how to scale Drupal 7. Starting at 10 Mbps and increasing traffic past 1 Gbps, Nathan will show Drupal users how to respond to critical events in real-time by:

1) Utilizing the CDN for static content

2) Setting up and configuring dedicated varnish servers

3) Setting up a dedicated memcache server

4) Adding web servers into a load balancing pool

5) Creating additional web servers as needed

6) Setting up and configuring a dedicated NFS server for shared storage between web servers

At DrupalCampNYC 10, Nathan will also delve into scaling Drupal, but this time with a focus on Opscode Chef. He will go over how Drupal users can utilize Chef to install and configure full-featured, high-performance Drupal deployments.
