On Thursday of last week Amazon Web Services took the rare step (for them) of pre-announcing a product – specifically that they will be offering a CDN service to the general public before the end of the year.  They, as one would expect, are offering a no commitment pay-as-you-go model that they’re known and loved for.

Naturally, the tech blogs are abuzz with the news – and rightly so.  It’s a huge step forward to increasing the value of their offerings and, at least if you think like we do, is getting out in front of where the market is going to be in short order.
