Voxel Server Environment
The Voxel Server Environment (VSE) is a Linux environment based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). VSE is fully compatible -- both source and binary -- with Red Hat Enterprise Linux as it includes the same set of packages at the same version levels with the same source code as the Red Hat distribution.
The only changes made are:
- Removal of Red Hat trademarks and copyrights
- Tweaks and enhancements to ensure the best possible performance, stability, and compatibility across the entire line of Voxel virtualized and bare metal hosting platforms.
- Additional user-land packages for supported ProManaged hosting software (Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc) that are pre-tuned and configured for optimal performance and best practices.
- Additional user-land packages for enhanced monitoring at both the application and the hardware levels.
Voxel's involvement in Linux began in 1999, when we became the first Managed Hosting provider to offer comprehensive support for the entire Linux environment. Since then, our engineers and developers have made code contributions back to the Linux kernel, as well as open source projects such as Apache.

With the Voxel Server Environment, customers can benefit from having our years of expertise and best practices 'baked in' to their customized Managed Hosting deployment.
VSE is available at no additional charge to both BaseManaged and ProManaged Hosting customers.
