Voxel became the first Managed Hosting provider to offer comprehensive support for the entire Linux environment in 1999. Our commitment has continued through the years, and includes code contributions back to several open source projects including the Linux kernel and Apache.

The Voxel Server Environment (VSE) reflects that commitment, and is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). VSE is fully compatible — both source and binary — with Red Hat Enterprise Linux as it includes the same set of packages at the same version levels with the same source code as the Red Hat distribution.

With the Voxel Server Environment, customers can benefit from having our years of expertise and best practices 'baked in' to their customized Managed Hosting deployment.

• Enhancements to ensure the best possible performance, stability, and compatibility across the entire line of Voxel hosting platforms.
• Additional user-land packages for supported ProManaged hosting software (Apache, PHP, MySQL, etc) that are pre-tuned and configured for optimal performance and best practices.
• Additional user-land packages for enhanced monitoring at both the application and the hardware levels.

VSE is available at no additional charge to both BaseManaged and ProManaged Hosting customers.
